In the artisan villages we find traditional carvers and painters being influenced by successful experimentation. An innovative carving can pave the way for new species of insects, animals, and other worldly creatures. One artist of more modest means can even create a new way to carve a familiar animal. This is why armadillos seldom resemble pieces done a decade earlier.

What is practiced by some is often times not apparent in others. Some prefer simplistic beauty while others eye dazzling complexities. Some are uniform, symmetric, and utilize precise calculated brush strokes. Still others are preserving a timeless look that was taught to them generations before.
