	Felip Quiroz is an artist far removed from the other carving villages. His different approach to layered paint schemes make them distinctly one of a kind.

	Jacinto Mandarin has developed a look and level of quality that is admired within his family and to knowledgeable collectors. One piece running iguanas and one piece Indian elephants are his hallmarks.

	Inocente Melchor Garcia works in truly magic rhealms with the changlings that he brings forth. Never borrowing on a theme this artist will continually reinvent nagual superstitious beings in uniquely elegant and elaborate forms.

	Master artist Medina has an outlandish imagination combined with unequaled carving and painting skills. His compositions take weeks to complete and the level of detail goes beyond what any other artist is able to do. Technically the best example of Oaxacan woodcarving there is. Every one of his pieces belongs in a museum.

	Laurencio Morales invents walking terrapins and emotional monkeys of every possible pose and expression. From cats to kangaroos all of his creations have extreme postures and contours.

	Avelino Perez goes beyond ecclectic with his statuesque figurines. A master of both dyes and paints gives his creations a very different feel.

	Lauro Ramirez melds the style and sophistication of two of the greatest carving families in Arrazola. With the combined styles of the Ramirez and Morales family she carves and paints flawless masterpieces in each original experiment.

	Angel Ramirez takes great care with the form of his creations. Working in the small scale this artist produces dramatically fine sculptures.

	Considered the original carver of La Union, grand master Jaime Santiago Morales developed a look which all carvings from the village reflect.

	Armando Ramirez creates refined smooth pieces adorned with micro dots and spiraling starbursts. A unique color palate and classic look that is often imitated.

	Luis Sosa's aliens show a mastery of color balance and detail. Known for highly crafted aliens with many specialized appendages.

	Of the five very best carvers in Oaxcan art Narcisco Gonzales stands above them without compare as both a sculptor and painter. With a waiting list for commissioned work of several years he is also one of the hardest to obtain. Entirely inspiring original ideas executed flawlessly and painstakingly painted to give a sort of 5th dimension to each composition. Guitar playing toads and infinitely complex dragons are only some of his unique specialties. Discreetly Narcisco carves his large elaborate pieces for other artists for them to paint.

	The standard setter for one of the few families that kept their true Zapotec name. Antonio Xuana is the master of sanding and shaping. Prefering to work in the purity of solids give his pieces a 60's retro flair
